Project PREDIM “Support to National Institutions in Prevention of Discrimination in Montenegro” completed

Within the above-mentioned project, CEDEM has implemented a large number of activities. Namely, the Center for Democracy and Human Rights (CEDEM) presented the results of the research “Patterns of Discrimination in Montenegro” on Wednesday, May 26, 2017 at the Hilton Hotel in Podgorica. The research was realized in cooperation with the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and the Ombudsman Institution, within the project “Support to National Institutions in Prevention of Discrimination in Montenegro” (PREDIM), funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe.

The results of the research were presented by Miloš Bešić, CEDEM’s chief methodologist, and Milena Bešić, CEDEM’s director.

In the period from August 29 to 31, CEDEM held a training in Kolašin focused on the research skills of employees in the Ombudsman institution. The aim of the training is to raise research capacities for public policy purposes.

The training was realized in cooperation with the Ombudsman Institution, within the project “Support to National Institutions in the Prevention of Discrimination in Montenegro” (PREDIM), funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe, and the Council of Europe is in charge of implementation.

The Center for Democracy and Human Rights, in cooperation with the Council of Europe, is implementing the project “Support to National Institutions in the Prevention of Discrimination in Montenegro – PREDIM”, funded by the European Union.

As part of October 2017, the project held a training “Capacity Building in Research Skills”. The training was led by prof. Dr. Miloš Bešić, methodologist.

The training was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the Institute for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions and the institutions of the Ombudsman of Montenegro.

The training aimed to strengthen capacity in research skills. The training contributed to the participants’ understanding of the research process, as well as to the analysis and interpretation of the data obtained through that process. The training covered practical examples in different areas of public policy research, with special emphasis on the design of research evaluation, having in mind their daily work.

In March 2018, the Center for Democracy and Human Rights (CEDEM) published the second research “Forms, Patterns and Degree of Discrimination in Montenegro – Trends and Analysis” in cooperation with the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and the Ombudsman Institution, within the project ” Support to National Institutions in the Prevention of Discrimination in Montenegro “(PREDIM), funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe, and implemented by the Council of Europe.
