Seminar: Presumption of innocence within the European Convention on Human Rights
The Center for Democracy and Human Rights (CEDEM) organized a seminar on Presumption of Innocence within the European Convention on Human Rights at the Hotel Podgorica, in cooperation with the AIRE Center in London and the Center for Education of Judicial Officers of Montenegro, focusing on the role of media and public officials. .
The seminar was supported by the German Konrad Adenauer Foundation, through the Rule of Law Program in Southeast Europe, the OSCE Mission to Montenegro and the British Embassy in Podgorica. This event brought together representatives of courts, prosecutors, lawyers, international and non-governmental organizations and encouraged dialogue on the implementation of fair trial standards in Montenegrin practice, as well as possible ways to harmonize domestic legislation with the standards of the European Court of Human Rights.
