Improving the practice of the Constitutional Court of Montenegro regarding protection against discrimination

The project “Improving the practice of the Constitutional Court of Montenegro in terms of protection against discrimination” was created with the aim of contributing to more efficient implementation of anti-discrimination legislation in Montenegro, especially in the context of harmonizing the practice of national courts with the European Court of Human Rights. The project is implemented in partnership with the Institute for Legal Studies, with the support of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Montenegro and is aimed at analyzing the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Montenegro and regular courts in relation to discrimination in Montenegro. Key project activities to be implemented in September 2015 – June 2016 include: signing a Memorandum of Cooperation between CEDEM and the Institute for Legal Studies, initial meetings with stakeholders, analysis of the legislative framework, preparation of reports on decisions of regular courts and the Constitutional Court of Montenegro. Above, as well as the presentation of the report through public debates in Bijelo Polje and Podgorica.
