Supporting Judicial Reform in Montenegro: Supporting the Fight against Organized Crime

The project was created with the aim of contributing to a more effective functioning of the system of confiscation and management of proceeds of crime, and a more successful fight against organized crime. In addition, the project aims to raise awareness of the legal nature and elements of the system of confiscation of proceeds of organized crime, as well as the importance of intersectoral and regional cooperation in this area.

Key project activities include the analysis of the normative and institutional framework; examining the attitudes of the civil sector on the situation in the area; interviews with representatives of competent institutions; as well as trainings on international standards and comparative practice in this area, for representatives of the prosecution, judiciary, police, Property Administration, Bar Association of Montenegro and civil society organizations. The project is supported by the US Embassy in Podgorica.
