Support for Montenegro’s integration into the European Union – Support for judicial reform
The project aims to contribute to the establishment of a responsible, transparent and efficient judiciary in Montenegro and encourage faster integration of Montenegro into the European Union. In addition, the project aims to strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations to monitor and analyze court proceedings in the field of organized crime and corruption.
The project includes monitoring of criminal proceedings before higher courts in Podgorica and Bijelo Polje for crimes with elements of corruption and organized crime; trainings for representatives of the judiciary and the bar on the practice of the European Court of Human Rights in criminal matters; preparation and presentation of practical policy proposals related to judicial reform, as well as workshops on negotiating chapters 23 and 24 for representatives of civil society organizations dealing with the rule of law. The project is supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Belgrade.
