Capacity building for strengthening the Montenegrin asylum and migration management system
With the support of the MATRA program of the Dutch Embassy in Belgrade, CEDEM has launched the Capacity Building Project to Strengthen Montenegro’s Asylum and Migration Management System, which aims to support Montenegro’s efforts to reform asylum composition and mixed migration management in line with EU standards.
In addition, the project aims to contribute to strengthening cooperation between the Government and civil society in this area. Key project activities include the establishment of an NGO coalition to monitor the asylum and migration system under Chapter 24, training for government officials, border police and NGOs, field needs research, and roundtables on the draft Asylum Law. The project is being implemented in partnership with the Dutch Refugee Council, lasting 12 months.
