Attitudes of Montenegrin citizens about NATO
The issue of Montenegro’s membership in the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) is becoming topical again on the Montenegrin public scene. Although Montenegro has not yet received an invitation to join, our country is widely debating whether the decision to join this community should be made in a referendum or in Parliament.
One thing is for sure, the opinion of the citizens cannot be ignored in any case. This position is additionally effective if we keep in mind the messages of NATO leaders that the call will not follow until “stable” support of the citizens is provided. CEDEM, as an organization that closely monitors the process of Euro-Atlantic integration, brings the latest research on the attitudes of citizens on this issue.
