Implemented seminar: Montenegro in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration

CEDEM, in cooperation with the German Konrad Adenauer Stiftung – KAS and the Center for European Studies – CES from Brussels, in the period 27-28. February 2014, at the Bianca Hotel in Kolasin, organized a seminar on: Montenegro in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration. The seminar was organized for about 30 students of the Faculty of Political Sciences, Faculty of Law and Economics in Podgorica.

The primary goal of this seminar is to raise awareness and expand knowledge among young people – future public officials in Montenegro, about EU institutions, the negotiation process, political and economic aspects of EU accession, as well as key challenges when it comes to EU enlargement. Also, the seminar participants had the opportunity to expand their knowledge on the importance of Euro-Atlantic integration, get acquainted with the comparative experiences of countries in the region and through participation in an interactive debate exchange information with renowned experts in these fields.

The seminar was opened by Henry Bohnet, Director of the KAS Foundation for Serbia and Montenegro and Nenad Koprivica, MA, Executive Director of CEDEM, and lecturers at the seminar were: Milivoje Jurišić, MA, Secretary of the Negotiating Group for Montenegro’s EU Accession Negotiations from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Barbara Rotovnik, Adviser on the Rule of Law and European Integration in the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro, prof. Dr. Gordana Đurović, full professor at the Faculty of Economics in Podgorica, Milena Radenković, NATO contact point coordinator for Montenegro at the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia, as well as Colonel Dr. Mehmedin Tahirović from the Ministry of Defense of Montenegro.
