Workshop on Asylum and Irregular Migration for NGO Representatives

On 14 and 15 May, CEDEM held a workshop at the Sentido Tara Hotel in Bečići dedicated to the asylum system and irregular migration management for representatives of Montenegrin NGOs dealing with the protection of migrants and victims of trafficking and violence. The training was realized in cooperation with the Dutch Refugee Center, within the project Capacity Building of the Montenegrin Asylum System and Irregular Migration Management, which was supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Belgrade.

The participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with asylum and migration management policies in the context of Montenegro’s accession to the European Union, especially with the procedures and regulations concerning the asylum procedure and treatment of illegal migrants, safe country and country of origin concepts and other issues. which are important for the effective protection of migrants and asylum seekers. Special attention is paid to the presentation of cases from practice, both international (Netherlands) and the practice of countries in the region (Serbia).
