
The third training for employees of the Ombudsperson Institution was held
For the third time, CEDEM organized a training for employees of the Ombudsman Institution, within the project “Strengthening Institutional Capacities for Supervision of the Security Sector”, which is implemented with the financial support of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Montenegro.
Professor at Mendel University, Faculty of Regional Development and International Studies in Brno, Mr. Vladimir Djordjevic, gave lectures on: 1) Competencies of the Ombudsman Institution of the Czech Republic, 2) Practical examples of this institution in terms of police control, and 3) Europeanization of the security structures of the Czech Republic.
On the other hand, Mr. Petar Stojanović, Judge of the Supreme Court, provided an analysis of the defendant’s right to be present in criminal proceedings and the legal consequences of violating this right.
The training was concluded by Ms. Desanka Lopicic, a judge of the Constitutional Court, whose topic was the application of Articles 6 and 13 of the European Convention on Human Rights, with special reference to practical examples and judgments.
