
School “Gender and Security” successfully completed

The school “Gender and Security” was successfully implemented by the CEDEM – Center for Democracy and Human Rights in partnership with the Montenegrin Women’s Lobby (CŽL), within the project “Women’s Empowerment Initiative: Education for Gender Equality”, with the support of the Ministry of Human Rights and minority rights.
The school was implemented from September 16 to October 16 of the current year, with the aim of contributing to greater respect for women’s rights and raising awareness of the importance of gender equality, by informing students about gender equality policies and the importance of women’s representation at high and managerial positions, as well as strengthening the professional capacity to undertake specific measures to achieve gender equality, bearing in mind that the School was attended by young professionals from various fields.
The lecturers at the School were from different fields, in order to transfer their knowledge and experience to the students, starting with civil sector activists who have been fighting for the advancement of gender equality for years, through representatives of the Ombudsman institution and Courts, to representatives from the security sector, the media and the Assembly, all with a view to looking at this important issue from different angles and from different positions. On this occasion, we thank them for their very inspiring and helpful lectures.
The students of the School were young professionals from different fields, very interested in the topics covered. With their active participation a great contribution to the School was made, for which we thank them once again.
After the completion of ten lectures, the students were presented with Certificates for participation in the school “Gender and Security”.
We take this opportunity to congratulate them and wish them much success in their future work.
