Info sessions for citizens were held in Nikšić, Podgorica and Bar

Due to the lack of adequate information of citizens on ethical standards when writing and publishing media content, info sessions on the Code of Ethics for Journalists of Montenegro were organized in Nikšić, Podgorica and Bar.

Bearing in mind that media content that violates or endangers the rights of citizens is often published, the info sessions were aimed at informing citizens about the key principles of the Code that should be respected when publishing media content. Citizens had the opportunity, in addition to learning about ethical standards in the media, to learn how they can use regulatory bodies and how to protect their rights.

In addition to Gordana Đuračić, editor of TV PRVA, and Marko Pejović, project coordinator of CEDEM, the sessions were attended by lawyer Vesna Cimbaljević, who from a legal aspect introduced citizens to the process of exercising their rights, but also to previous experience in court proceedings in this area.

Info sessions are organized by the Center for Democracy and Human Rights – CEDEM, in cooperation with TV PRVA, within the project “Strengthening the role of the media in improving criminal justice in Montenegro.”
