“Young people facing modern security challenges: what lies ahead?”

The school is realized within the project “Let’s take a stand for future perspectives: the alliance of youth and NATO” which is realized by CEDEM in cooperation with NGO “Attack” and PR & Media Consultancy PRiME, and which is supported by NATO’s Department of Public Diplomacy.
The aim of the school is to contribute to improving the level of information and improving the knowledge of young people about international security and security challenges in the Western Balkans. The School also aims to build young people’s knowledge of key aspects of the concept of human security, including democratic civilian control, contemporary security threats such as terrorism and violent extremism, and the relationship between the concept of security and the protection of privacy and dignity.
The school is especially focused on: a) students of law, political science and journalism; b) trainees and junior officials employed in state institutions; c) young leaders of political parties in Montenegro; and e) young civil society actors. In addition, we encourage young people from the field of natural sciences to apply for participation in the School!
The lecturers are national and regional experts, as well as representatives of the Montenegrin security sector.
The school will be held from June 16 to 18 (Sunday afternoon to Tuesday afternoon), at the Palace Hotel in Petrovac. All students of the School are provided with accommodation in a hotel on a full board basis and transportation in both directions.
All participants upon completion of the School, receive a certificate and the right to participate in other project activities.
