CEDEM organized a round table on the topic: Trends in the development of democracy in Montenegro


The Center for Democracy and Human Rights (CEDEM), in cooperation with the German Hanns Seidel Foundation, organized a Round Table on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in Podgorica on the topic: Trends in the development of democracy in Montenegro.

The meeting was opened by N.E. Hans Günther Mattern, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Montenegro, Lutz Kober, Director of the Hanns Seidel Foundation Project Office for Serbia and Montenegro and Nenad Koprivica, Executive Director of CEDEM.

This was followed by a panel discussion where there were talks about various social segments that affect the state of democracy in Montenegro, and among the panelists were a representative of the Office of the Protector Mr. Sinisa Bjerkovic, Ms. Andjelija Lucic from CDT, Mr. Slaven Zivkovic from the DeFacto agency and the president of the Council for Civil Control of the Police, Mr. Sasa Zekovic.

The gathering brought together about 30 representatives of NGOs, political parties, the Government, the media, academia and the diplomatic corps.
