Support for efficient management of the criminal sanctions mechanism in Montenegro
The project “Support to Effective Management of the Criminal Sanctions Mechanism in Montenegro” aims to support the implementation of laws and action plans in the field of execution of criminal sanctions, in accordance with international standards, by improving the framework for applying relevant standards of protection of prisoners and detainees , improving the framework for the ethical responsibility of prison officials and probation officers, in line with European standards.
This project is specifically aimed at: 1) Ministry of Justice (representatives of the Department for Supervision of the Application of Criminal Sanctions); 2) Institute for Execution of Criminal Sanctions (prison officers and probation officers); 3) Institution of the Protector of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (Ombudsman – Department for the Prevention of Torture); 4) Judiciary (representatives of the Special State Prosecutor’s Office, Basic Courts and the High Court, law offices).
The project is implemented for a period of 12 months, and is financed from the funds of the Ministry of Justice – the Institute for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions.
