Active monitoring of human rights in Montenegro

The Active Human Rights Monitoring project is being implemented with the support of the European Union Delegation to Montenegro for 18 months starting in February 2011.

The overall goal of the project is to improve the ability of Montenegrin civil society to influence the development and implementation of human rights policies.

The specific objectives are:

  1. Improving the capacity of Montenegrin civil society to engage in human rights monitoring and advocacy
  2. Providing a basis for human rights advocacy and answers to human rights issues in the country
  3. Improving cooperation between civil society organizations and the Government
  4. Raising awareness of the general public about the importance of human rights and understanding the problems in this area
