The SEC needs to strengthen its capacity to control the collection of voter signatures
CEDEM has repeatedly appealed to the State Election Commission to, in order to prevent abuses in the collection of voters’ signatures, to comprehensively resolve the issue of quality and efficient control of the collected signatures.
Unfortunately, as the SEC has not announced how it controlled the signatures of voters, CEDEM justifiably suspects that this body did not take all measures to ensure that the election process, at the very beginning, is conducted in a legal and transparent manner.
