The Active Human Rights Monitoring project is being implemented with the support of the European Union Delegation to Montenegro for 18 months starting in February 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The overall goal of the project is to improve the ability of Montenegrin civil society to influence the development and implementation of human rights policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The specific objectives are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Improving the capacity of Montenegrin civil society to engage in human rights monitoring and advocacy<\/li>
  2. Providing a basis for human rights advocacy and answers to human rights issues in the country<\/li>
  3. Improving cooperation between civil society organizations and the Government<\/li>
  4. Raising awareness of the general public about the importance of human rights and understanding the problems in this area<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
