Rule of law training

This project aims to contribute to the establishment of the full rule of law in Montenegro, and thus to bringing the country closer to NATO and the European Union. The seminars are part of a multi-year program developed by CEDEM in cooperation with the AIRE Center in London, with the aim of contributing to the harmonization of Montenegrin legislation and practice with the standards of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and the European Court of Human Rights. The program has so far been attended by over 1,000 representatives of the judiciary, state administration, the legal profession, the media and civil society organizations. This year’s seminars will address key challenges in the implementation of innovated criminal law, with a focus on new CPC institutes and the confiscation of proceeds of organized crime. The organization of the seminar was initiated by the German Konrad Adenauer Foundation, through the Rule of Law Program in Southeast Europe.
