In cooperation with AIRE Centre from London and Judicial Training Centre of Montenegro, CEDEM organized seminar titled "Protecting the right to privacy". The seminar is supported by Royal Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade and British Embassy in Podgorica. The activity was organized in Kolasin under the project "Supporting Montenegro's integration into the EU: Supporting judicial reform."
Rule of Law
Montenegro is a civic, democratic, ecological and the state of social justice, based on the rule of law. (Article 1, Constitution of Montenegro). The affirmation of the principle of equality before the law, as one of the fundamental postulates of the rule of law, is the primary function of Rule of Law Department.
CEDEM is the first NGO in Montenegro, which has organized seminars on international and European Union legal standards. Over 900 lawyers, judges, prosecutors and other government officials have participated in our training programs since 1999. Rule of Law Department, prepares draft laws and draft amendments to the law; organizing round tables and seminars for representatives of judicial bodies; performing monitoring of court proceedings; prepares, publishes and distributes publications, aim to encourage responsible, professional, efficient and transparent judiciary in Montenegro.

Trial monitoring of criminal justice in Montenegro

In the period from 15 December 2012 til 15 December 2013, with the support of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade, Centre for Democracy and Human Rights (CEDEM) and Youth Initiative for Human Rights in Montenegro will conduct monitoring of criminal proceedings in order to contribute to the establishment of an effective, independent and accountable judiciary in Montenegro.
